Architects Design Texas Military Barracks Using Modular Panel System Technology
Historically military barracks are not often designed with modernity in mind. These buildings serve an essential function, to house our nation’s military personnel. Yet, the Army Barracks in Powderly, Texas goes a step further, showcasing the fusion of essential function and contemporary design. Designed by Base4 Architecture, the new Army Barracks building is entirely modular, clad in an interlocking panel system with the Army’s signature camouflage color palette.

Groundbreaking began on NASA Langley’s largest laboratory in April 2017. The nearly 96-million-dollar project in Hampton, Virginia is part of a revitalization plan for NASA Langley that will replace and repurpose the site’s facilities. “The Measurement Systems Laboratory will be a world-class facility for research and development of new measurement concepts, technologies, and systems that will enable NASA to achieve its mission in space exploration, science, and aeronautics,” Michael Finneran of NASA Langley Research Center explains.

Texas Medical Center Features Modern Mix of Contemporary Building Materials For Expansion
The University Medical Center in El Paso underwent an expansion to allow additional services and clinics to the community. One of these expansive properties was the East Clinic, that as the architects at PAGE describe, “…reinforces the existing UMC visual identity by using many of the same materials and elements used at the front door and lobby of the hospital that anchors the health care network, providing patients with a sense of familiarity.”
